U2 postpone plans to release 2008 album
04/09/2008 - 07:43:59

Rockers U2 have postponed the release of their new album - because they can't stop writing new songs.

The group has been recording tracks for the follow up to 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb' in Morocco and France, where frontman Bono has a vacation home - and the bandmates have amassed "50 to 60" tracks, according to the frontman.

Bono says: "We've hit a rich songwriting vein and we don't want to stop."

So the band has scrapped plans to complete and release the new album by the end of 2008.

Bono adds: "Early next year people will be able to start hearing what we've been doing. We want 2009 to be our year."
