Connacht Gold is investing €3m in the redevelopment of its landmark store at Deepwater Quay in Sligo. The new store is scheduled to open in February 2009 and will create in the region of 10 new jobs in the town.

The Connacht Gold Store, which has been located at Deepwater Quay since the 1970’s, is at the centre of a major investment programme that will result in a total revamp of the two acre site.

Guilfoyle, General Manager of Connacht Gold’s Agri-Business division said: “Local investment is a priority for us. This is the seventh major store development we have undertaken in the last three years and we are keen to continue with our modernisation programme in order to improve and develop the products and services our premises offer.”

Connacht Gold Co-Op is engaged in a wide range of activities including dairy processing, liquid milk distribution, feed milling, retail stores, livestock marketing, wool trading, and timber sawmilling.
